Titanium Tent Pegs Combination Pack - 4 types, 14 pegs
Titanium tent pegs are known for their lightweight, high tensile strength, flexibility and extreme corrosion resistance. However there are various types of lightweight titanium pegs, each of which are designed to serve a slightly different purpose and consequently fall under different weight categories, from Lightweight Titanium Rock Pegs to Ultralite Titanium Hook Pegs.
Our tent peg combination packs consist of the following lightweight titanium tent pegs:
Total pack weight: 96 grams
No tent peg is ideal for every situation or every ground condition and whilst you can often make do with the general purpose pegs that came with your tent, there are times when having a variety of tent peg designs can really get you out of trouble.
What we have done here at STATION13 is to provide you with a combination of the various lightweight titanium tent pegs that we supply and put them all in one pack. What this means is that you can keep the weight to a minimum, whilst still providing yourself with tent pegs for nearly every ground condition you will likely encounter.
Our Titanium Tent Peg Combi-Packs are suitable for most 1 man or 2 man tents and consist of the following titanium tent pegs.
The 2g Ultralite Titanium Hook Pegs (130mm x 2mm) are used solely for pegging down a ground sheet/footprint or the 4 corners of the inner tent, for which they are ideal. (NOT eminently suitable for load bearing applications such as pegging a flysheet or guylines - though many ultralight backpackers may beg to differ on this point and use these ultralight tent pegs throughout).
The classic 5g Superlite Titanium Shepherd's Crook Tent Pegs (155mm x 3mm) are a very good, lightweight all rounder, general purpose tent pegs, and the most popular lightweight tent peg upgrade.
The 12g V-Section Titanium Tent Pegs (160mm x 10mm x 10mm) are extremely good in softer ground where there shape enables them to grip and hold much firmer than any of the other titanium tent pegs that we supply.
The 10g Strong Nail-Type Titanium Rock Peg (155mm x 4mm) can be hammered into harder, stonier ground than any of the other titanium tent pegs could handle.
It is always useful to carry a variety of tent pegs as you never know exactly what ground you will have to pitch on. Our Titanium Tent Peg Combination Pack provides you with this variety whilst also keeping the weight to a minimum.
Titanium Alloy Grade 5 (Gr5) Grade 5 (Gr5), also known as Ti6Al4V, Ti-6Al-4V or Ti 6-4, is the most commonly used alloy. It has a chemical composition of 6% aluminium, 4% vanadium, 0.25% (maximum) iron, 0.2% (maximum) oxygen, and the remainder titanium.[5] It is significantly stronger than commercially pure titanium while having the same stiffness and thermal properties (excluding thermal conductivity, which is about 60% lower in Grade 5 Ti than in CP Ti).[6] Among its many advantages, it is heat treatable. This grade is an excellent combination of strength, corrosion resistance, weld and fabricability.
