No, this is a more rugged, heavy duty new design of stove, better suited for car camping, for touring, family camping or indeed for use in the garden at home. Folding up tidily into a small cylinder shape (25cm x 11cm x 9cm) and with its own fabric carry bag, this is a very compact, neat and well-designed little stove.
This stove uses the self-sealing push-on type gas canisters (as opposed to screw-on), which are loaded into the stove casing once the stove arms and legs have been folded out. The canister is inserted and oriented with the little metal tab, then simply pushed into place. A novel magnetic ring holds the canister in place, but as a safety measure will pop off in the case of any back pressure or over pressure, whereby the gas canister will self seal.
Once unfolded and opened out, with its wide 3 legs and the attached casing also acting as a further support, this stove provides a very wide and stable cooking platform.
The stove does feature a piezo ignition for igniting the gas and hence lighting the stove. This is activated by turning the control know all the way to the + to fire the piezo ignition, thereafter the control knob allows easy adjustment of the gas and hence the heat output. All in all a lovely little camping stove of quite novel design.

Lightweight Mini Cassette 'Pocket' Camping Gas Stove

At just 375 grams and small enough when folded down into its cassette shape to fit in a pocket, our mini compact cassette folding gas stove is eminently suitable for lightweight camping and backpacking.
Folding up tidily into a small pocket-size cassette of just 14.5cm x 7.5cm x 2.5cm and with its own fabric carry bag, this is an extremely nice compact, well-designed, and unique little stove.
Like the larger portable stove above, this stove also uses the self-sealing push-on type gas canisters (as opposed to screw-on), which are attached and locked into place by the black plastic collars.
Once unfolded and opened out, this small stove provides a decent cooking area for such a compact stove, with a fierce 2600kW flame at your disposal.
There is a knack to clipping the burner onto the cassette body, which is held in place by spring clips, but once you have it mastered, it is very easy to repeat. Do not use force, just take a little time to work it out. Once in place, pushing one of the spring clips will allow you to ease the burner back out and off. But fear not, detailed instructions are included with the stove.
When opened out the steel wire support legs provide a wide and stable cooking platform.
