Lightweight Backpacking Methylated Spirit/Alcohol Stove (just 145 grams)
Often favoured by outdoor enthusiasts that prefer the more traditional alcohol/spirit fuels stoves as opposed to gas or solid fuel.
If you are in no hurry and prefer the gentle flame of an alcohol stove over the roar of a gas stove, then these little stoves with their lazy flame and simplicity may be the answer. Compared to gas, these little stoves will take longer to boil your water for a hot drink, but if time is not an issue, then they have their merits. For one thing you are never left with hard to dispose of empty gas canisters, and unlike gas canisters whereby you maybe uncertain of just how much gas you have left (and therefore may have to carry a bulky spare canister), this tends not to be an issue when you carry a liquid fuel in a bottle that you can prefill fully before your venture into the outdoors.
These stoves will burn methylated spirits or dedicated camping stove denatured alcohol. Methylated spirit is less calorific than denatured alcohol, but it does tend to last a lot longer. Denatured alcohols that are designed specifically for camping stoves are cleaner burning and often odourless, but they burn faster and may cost considerably more than methylated spirits.
This stove comes with a leak-proof travelling lid, but unlike some similar stoves that are available, this stove comes complete with its dedicated cooking stand and also features a dousing lid for safely extinguishing the stove after use. The dousing lid can also be used to adjust the flame output, hence can act as a simmer control. Furthermore, and again unlike some other stoves, the dousing lid itself features a small handle which allows you to extinguish the flames without burning your fingers.
Whilst not as efficient or as easy to control as gas stoves, these alcohol stoves are pretty bombproof. With no moving parts and so nothing to go wrong, these little stoves are often favoured by traditionalists that demand the ultimate in simplicity and reliability.
This great little stove weighs in at just 145g and comes with its own textile packing pouch (154g with pouch).

Lightweight Backpacking & Camping Wood/Multi-Fuel Stove
These little stoves are the ultimate in terms of a basic 'live off the land' stove for the ultimate backpacking purist.
Our multi-fuel stoves feature hinges so fold up and fold out rather than needing to be slotted together like some similar stoves. A stainless steel pin simply slots in to hold the stove firmly together. Along with wood burning, these little stoves also come with a stainless steel bowl that can either be used for a liquid fuel or solid fuels/gels, so the stove itself is quite versatile.
Though nowhere near the efficiency of such as a gas stove, these little multi-fuel stoves can use twigs and sticks found lying around, so do away with the need to carry fuel with you. You will not cook or boil water as fast with these stoves as, for example, a gas stove, but if time is not an issue they work really well, they just take a little longer.
In winter these stoves will certainly have there limitations when compared to stoves fuelled by other sources, when in may be impossible to find dry wood and kindling, but at other times of the year they can excel in their simplicity.
In terms of size, these stoves stand 11cm high, they are 9cm x 9cm at the base, and 8cm x 8cm at the top. A 5cm x 5cm opening on one side provides access to feed in wood fuel. One thing to note is that because our stoves are hinged rather than slot together, they are not only faster to set up, but also eminently more stable in use.
These stoves will fold down 12cm x 11cm x 2.5cm in the little pouch provided with them, so are extremely compact to carry. They are also very lightweight at just 170g (including the stainless steel bowl and the carrying pouch).
We were initially unsure as whether or not to stock these stoves as we have always been gas stove users ourselves, but the versatility of theses little stoves and the great feedback they get made us reconsider.
Additional Support
We have enclosed a small section of stainless steel strap (as shown in photos below) that can be used as an additional support for any pot or cup too small to sit comfortably on the top of the stove.
This stainless steel section is provided additionally by us, so is not part of the stove as provided by the manufacturer. You may not need it, you may think it’s junk, if so please feel free to bin it.
However, we have been made aware that there are some mugs, cups and pots that are too small to locate securely on the top of the stove, and this stainless steel section will resolve this issue. The stainless steel section simply slides over opposite corners of the stove to provide additional support.
The stainless steel support can be fitted so it sits on top of the hinges and hence remains the same height as the top of the stove, or fitted to the opposite corners where it can be slid down past the hinges to sit around 1cm below the top of the stove. This is good if you have a utensil that fits within the width of the top of stove.
Play about with it because there are potentially 4 ways you can locate the stainless steel section, but two ways will work better than the other two.

Campingmoon XD-1 Turbo Extreme Weather Gas Stove
We sell a lot of lightweight gas camping stoves, and indeed we have quite a variety to suit various pockets and various requirements, and the XD-1 Turbo is yet another gas stove designed to meet a particular and specific need.
As far as lightweight backpacking gas stoves go, the XD-1 Turbo is right at the top of the pile when it comes to looks... the XD-1 is a thing of beauty. I know, perhaps we shouldn't be getting this excited about a gas stove, but it is a stunning little stove.
Specifications:
Name: XD-1 Turbo
Weight: 382g (482g in case)
Power: 3kW (4.9kW gas canister inverted)
Gas consumption: 200g per hour (canister upright)
Pot Support: 168mm
Height: 90mm
Dimensions when folded: 95mm x 75mm
Made primarily of brushed stainless steel, the manufacturing quality of this stove is clearly evident, however this quality does come at a cost, so the stove will not immediately suit everyone. And indeed. under normal conditions for general camping and backpacking use, there are much lighter, much less costly stoves available that will do the job equally well. In fact for general backpacking and camping use, the XD-1 Turbo is overkill in every sense of the word.
You see, the XD-1 Turbo is designed specifically for use at high altitudes and in extremely cold weather conditions, where it may be so cold that the liquid gas has trouble vaporising. It is in these extreme conditions that the XD-1 Turbo comes into its own - this is where the XD-1 Turbo excels and is designed to outperform other gas stoves.
The XD-1 Turbo comes with stand that allows you to invert the gas canister when faced with extremes of cold weather, so gravity allows the liquid gas to flow from the canister without relying on it vaporising from the top of the canister. With the burner lit the sizeable pre-heater pipe then pre-heats the liquid gas in order to vaporise the liquid gas more efficiently at the burner. Once ignited, with the pre-heater pipe sitting in the flame zone, the XD-1 Turbo then starts to perform very efficiently. In extremely cold conditions, any stove without a pre-heater pipe will struggle to work effectively... if at all.
Another feature of the XD-1 Turbo is the unique design of the burner itself. The design forces the gas centrally rather than upward, which will create a centralised upward flame - a mini cyclone effect, better focussing the heat.
The stove legs open out and lock into place to provide a nice stable 3 leg base, and the pot supports fold out to extend the support area. Everything folds back nicely in order to reduce the size for carrying. Once folded the stove will fit nicely into its dedicated carry case.
Note: This stove does not feature a piezo ignition, but it does come with an emergency fire starter/lighter.
A handy little fire starter for emergencies. Simply run the long side of the metal blade firmly down the ferrocerium rod to produce a mass of sparks. A very useful little tool to have with you.
If the pre-heater pipe feature of this stove is something that has drawn you to it, but the cost is a little off-putting, then check out our BRS-11 'Cyclone' gas stove. It might not be as completely well suited to the extreme conditions that the XD-1 Turbo is designed to cope with, but the BRS-11 is a good mid-way option that is also a lovely stove, well worth taking a look at.

Triangular Methylated Spirit/Alcohol Backpacking Stove
This is our new, alternative design of lightweight camping and backpacking methylated spirit/alcohol stove. This little stainless steel alcohol stove employs a windshield that also doubles as an effective pot stand. Though slightly heavier than aluminium versions of the stove, stainless steel is much stronger, more resilient, and unlike aluminium is not prone to heat damage/warping that can result after prolonged use.
An X-stand is included with this stove. This can be handy if the diameter of your pot or mug is too small to sit on the triangular support. Simply swap for the X-stand. Useful to have both options.
For use with dedicated camping stove denatured alcohols, or simply use readily available methylated spirits.
Now, you will notice, that unlike the other backpacking methylated spirit/alcohol stove that we supply, this stove does not provide any flame control (not possible with this design). Also the alcohol in the stove needs to either be fully used up, or any unused alcohol tipped away (or back into your fuel bottle), as this stainless steel stove does not feature any kind of cover lid. However, this slight inconvenience is balanced by the more stable pot stand and the fact that the whole thing will pack smaller as the stainless steel windshield/pot stand can be packed flat.
These small stoves are often favoured by outdoor enthusiasts that prefer the more traditional alcohol/spirit fuels stoves as opposed to gas or solid fuel.
If you are in no hurry and prefer the gentle flame of a methylated spirit/alcohol stove over the roar of a gas stove, then these little stoves with their lazy flame and simplicity may be the answer. Compared to gas, these little stoves will take longer to boil your water for a hot drink (around 2.5 times longer than a gas stove), but if time is not an issue, then they have their merits. For one thing you are never left with hard to dispose of empty gas cylinders, and unlike gas cylinders whereby you maybe uncertain of just how much gas you have left (and therefore may have to carry a bulky spare cylinder), this tends not to be an issue when you carry a liquid fuel in a bottle that you can prefill fully before your venture into the outdoors. Another point worth mentioning is that the lazier flame of these stoves tends to distribute heat more evenly, which can be a bonus when cooking food in a pan.
These stoves will burn methylated spirits or dedicated camping stove alcohols. Methylated spirit is readily available but is slightly less calorific than other types of camping stove alcohols, but it does tend to last a lot longer. Alcohols that are designed specifically for camping stoves may burn a little cleaner and are often odourless, but they burn faster and may cost considerably more than methylated spirits.
Whist not as efficient or as easy to control as gas stoves, these alcohol stoves are pretty bombproof. With no moving parts and so nothing to go wrong, these little stoves are often favoured by traditionalists that demand the ultimate in simplicity and reliability.
This great little stove weighs in at just 150g and packs down very small.
