1 Person Tent - STATION13 Backpacker
The STATION13 Backpacker is a high quality, lightweight, 2/3 season, one person backpacking tent designed to blend into the countryside, so is ideal for lightweight wild camping and stealth camping. These one person tents are fast and easy to erect, with their compact size and light weight also making them eminently suitable for anyone undertaking the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
STATION13 Backpacker specifications:
* Flysheet: 210T PU-coated waterproof polyester, UV protected, taped seams, hydrostatic head: 3000mm
* Inner tent: 210T polyester + high density nylon no-see-um bug mesh
* Floor: 210T PU-coated waterproof polyester, hydrostatic head: 3000mm
* 2 x 7.9mm ProFlex 7001-T6, shock-corded, anodised aluminium alloy tent poles
* 12 x Aluminium alloy tent pegs & guyline (Hi-Vis paracord)
* Weight: 1.54kgs with aluminium tent pegs (1.43 kg with Superlite 5g titanium tent pegs)
* Pack size: 43cm x 13cm
Weighing just 1.54kgs (with aluminium tent pegs), and with a minimum pack size of 43cm x 13cm, our Backpacker tent is relatively lightweight and compact.
These lightweight backpacking tents have a floor space of 213cm x 101cm at their widest, with the floor space narrowing to 60cm at the foot end. They have an inner tent height of 91cm at their highest point. The bathtub floor is sewn-in.
This tent does not feature any porch area, which means that there is not any practical storage space for a rucksack inside the tent underneath the flysheet. However, this is somewhat compensated for by a larger interior floor space.
While this is unlikely to be a problem for the minimalist camper who only carries a small to medium size backpack which can be taken inside the tent itself, larger people with very large packs might find it a bit tight and prefer to leave their pack outside under a rain cover. That said, this tent is actually quite spacious, with a very decent size floor plan for a lightweight one man tent, and there is certainly space inside to sleep with your pack inside with you.
At 5'11" and around 16 stones, I slept in the GeerTop Trail BLAZER camouflage version of this tent with my 65+10 litre rucksack next to me (photos at bottom of page), so it is certainly doable... though we are very well acquainted!
Whether or not others would be very comfortable or very happy with this arrangement is another thing and it may well depend upon how you sleep and indeed how big you are. Now I'll be the first to admit it was not ideal but I did manage with both myself and my large rucksack inside the tent on a 10-day camping trip in Wales, and from from my experience I would say a modern rucksack up to around 50 litres would be comfortable to sleep with inside the tent. And of course, the most important thing when backpacking, is weight, and this little tent only weighs 1.54kg!s

Given its small pitch size, this tent does have a surprisingly spacious interior - in fact it far exceeded our expectations. When we were originally sent a sample of the camouflage GeerTop Trail BLAZER tent, we were fully expecting something along the lines of a small bivvy tent similar to the Highlander Blackthorn 1 or the Gelert Solo, as it was once known, but these tents are far superior. There is room to move around and lengthwise it will accommodate taller people up to around 6'4". For a small, compact 1 person tent the Backpacker is a deceptively spacious tent - a bit like Dr Who's TARDIS.
With wild camping and stealth camping being their foremost function, these little backpacking tents meet slightly different requirements to some of our other tents. The Olive Drab flysheet of our Backpacker allows for discreet camping where other tents would colourfully announce their presence, and the camouflage of the GeerTop Trail BLAZER blends in well in woodland. In addition, the low sleek profile of these tents means that they also perform pretty well under windier conditions.
These are 2/3 season tents designed primarily for spring, summer and autumn UK camping. The outer flysheet of our Backpacker is made from 210T waterproof PU-coated polyester, UV protected and with a hydrostatic head of 3000mm, while the inner tent is 210T breathable polyester fabric with full high density nylon no-see-um bug mesh doors and end panels. The floor is also 210T waterproof polyester PU3000mm.
Both our Backpacker and the GeerTop Trail BLAZER are 2 entrance, inner pitch first tents, with a high air vent at the head end and fully adjustable venting at the foot end, allowing for versatile entry and exit options, and excellent air flow and ventilation.
Two nice quality aluminium tent poles nicely hold the tent's shape. These solo backpacking tents features quality 7.9mm, ProFlex 7001-T6 aluminium alloy tent poles; these tent poles are shock-corded, strong and flexible.
Whilst the Backpacker can be fully erected tent with 12 tent pegs and two guylines, we add two extra guylines and an additional three tents pegs to give you more options. Of course these do add a few grams (30g - 40g), and you may well deem them unnecessary, but by providing you with these additional items you have the option of using them should you feel the need to. The Geertop Trail BLAZER only comes with 12 pegs from the manufacturer, but again we make this up to 15 tents pegs in total and throw in extra guylines.
So, our Backpacker and Trail BLAZER tents come with a total of four guylines and 15 tent pegs. Either 12 x 14.6g aluminium candy cane hex pegs plus 3 additional aluminium tent pegs as standard, or with the option of 15 x of our Superlite 5g titanium shepherd's crook tent pegs. When weight is a top priority our Superlite 5g titanium tent pegs will shave a few more grams off the total weight of the tent, bringing our Backpacker tents down to just over 1.4kgs.
All seams are taped to provide a fully waterproof seal at the stitching. The seams are double-stitched and reinforced with box stitching at any potential stress points.
Again, please do not mistake these little tents for a cheap throwaway festival tents or the very inferior quality tents often available from superstores and the like, there really is no comparison. Indeed if you are looking to compare these tents with other tents (and, I know I would), then compare it to the big brand, more expensive tents and you will find the specifications of this little tent are right up there with them... but the price is not!
It should be noted that with their low profile, low weight, compact pack size, and great value for money, the Backpacker tents are also ideal as a single occupancy tent for students undertaking the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Point of note: All modern lightweight tents feature a lightweight flooring fabric, and though it can be made extremely waterproof, it is much less resilient, hence much more prone to damage by sharp implements - thorns, stones, etc. than the thicker, heavier materials employed by tents of old. I always use my polythene emergency survival bag as an additional groundsheet, and for this purpose it works extremely well. However if I did not have this, for peace of mind, I would surely employ an additional lightweight groundsheet for the extra protection it would offer to my lightweight tent floor.
Please note: Should you require it, we can supply an additional protective lightweight groundsheet/footprint - click here: Lightweight Groundsheet

1 Person Tent - GeerTop Trail BLAZER
We currently have a limited stock of GeerTop Trail BLAZER tents with the camouflage flysheet.
The GeerTop Trail BLAZER is a high quality, single person, backpacking tent ideal for two to three season lightweight backpacking, wild camping and stealth camping. The flysheet camouflage markings help this tent to blend particularly well into woodland making it a good small tent for discrete camping. And it should be noted that after trials and evaluation, this is the tent that the US army ordered in large quantities for field exercises in Cuba, so the tent is evidently well regarded by the US military.
Aside from the obvious flysheet cosmetic differences, the GeerTop Trail BLAZER tent specifications are identical to our Backpacker tent apart from our Backpacker having a very slightly superior hydrostatic head of 3000mm compared to 2500mm of the Trail BLAZER, and our Backpacker being around 60 grams lighter.
GeerTop Trail BLAZER specifications:
* Flysheet: 210T PU-coated waterproof polyester, UV protected, taped seams, hydrostatic head: 2500mm
* Inner tent: 210T polyester + high density nylon no-see-um bug mesh
* Floor: 210T PU-coated waterproof polyester, hydrostatic head: 2500mm
* 2 x 7.9mm ProFlex 7001-T6, shock-corded, anodised aluminium alloy tent poles
* 12 x Aluminium alloy tent pegs & guyline (camouflage paracord)
* Weight: 1.6kgs with aluminium tent pegs (1.5kg with Superlite 5g titanium tent pegs)
* Pack size: 43cm x 13cm

Taken on a very bright sunny day, the camera has washed-out the non-camo sections making them look more silvery in the above photos. The non-camo sections are in fact a grey/green colour better depicted by the photograph below.

PHOTOS ABOVE: In 2019 I took this GeerTop Trail BLAZER tent on a 10 day camping trip in Wales in order to test it out with a large 65 +10 litre Karrimor rucksack. I'm no little guy and I managed to camp with the large rucksack in the tent with me, along side my UltraMat-M sleeping mattress. The rucksack had large external pockets that made it far wider than many similar volume rucksacks that either have no external pockets or very slim pockets that can be tightened against the main body. I managed with this large rucksack, though it was not ideal and I would have preferred a little more room. Being a wide rucksack it was pushing the inner tent onto the outer tent at some points but, even given I had a couple of cold nights that produced considerable condensation on the inside of the flysheet, everything inside remained perfectly dry. From my experience, a modern slimline rucksack (no massively protruding external pockets) up to around 50 litres will fit with ease while providing ample space to sleep in comfort.
