Lightweight Aluminium Tent Pegs (Packs of 10)
Our lightweight aluminium tent pegs are a great compromise between the more expensive Superlite titanium tent pegs and the cheaper, but far heavier, rust-prone steel tent pegs that often come with budget tents.
All our lightweight aluminium alloy tent pegs are made from tempered aluminium alloy; that is aluminium alloyed with either magnesium and silicon (6061), or zinc (7075), and then heat treated to give a very strong, rigid metals, providing an extremely good strength to weight ratio.

Aluminium is by its very nature relatively corrosion resistant, but these Needle tents pegs are made from aviation grade 7075 aluminium alloy and then anodised in red, not only further increasing their corrosion resistance, but also making them a thing of beauty.
The rectangular profile of these tent pegs typically gives them a more secure hold in softer ground than equivalent length round tent pegs, likewise this also means that they are less prone to twisting on their axis.
Each lightweight aluminium alloy tent peg is 160mm in length, with a rectangular cross section of 4mm x 5mm, and weighs in at a mere 9.5 grams. Available in packs of 10.

These 10g V-section aluminium alloy tent pegs are extremely good in softer ground where their 'V' profile enables them to grip and hold much firmer than an equivalent length of round or needle tent peg - indeed their 'V' shape means that they are not prone to twisting on their axis. These aircraft grade aluminium alloy tent pegs are of the same design as used by Hilleberg with some of their tents.

The ties/pull cords can be used to tie directly to a guyline, or aid extraction of the tent peg from the ground. These Candy Cane tent pegs are a pretty universal, low cost option, general purpose aluminium alloy tent peg.
Of course, as with our other alloy tent pegs, the silver anodised aluminium on these candy cane tent pegs means corrosion will never be a problem. At 170mm in length they provide adequate ground penetration, while their 5mm thickness makes for a quite strong, decent all round tent peg. Each peg weighs in at 15 grams.

Point of note: A smooth round tent peg or a needle tent peg will much easier pull out of soft ground than either a V-section or a Y-section peg which, due to the greater surface area, is designed to hold more ground. However, V-shape and Y-shape tent pegs can be harder to push into firmer or stony ground. Whilst V-section and Y-section tent pegs are less prone to bend or kink than round tent pegs or square needle shape pegs, do bear in mind that any tent peg can be bent or destroyed by abuse and applying too much brute force. If you are struggling to get the tent peg into the ground, try inserting it at a slightly different point or a slightly different angle - if you are hammering a peg directly into a large stone or rock, then the tent peg will always come off second best!
