These walking poles are the latest addition to our STATION13 backpacking and camping equipment online store.
We wanted good quality, reliable trekking/walking poles, so we cherry-picked the best parts of various walking poles on the market and had these walking poles made to our own specifications.
We did consider lighter carbon fibre walking poles, but while they can be very strong vertically, they are also very susceptible to lateral knocks and dings which can fracture the carbon fibre making them often instantly useless. Good quality carbon fibre walking poles are also considerably more expensive, so we disregarded carbon fibre in favour of high quality aluminium alloy.
The 7075 series aircraft grade aluminium is stronger than the more commonly used 6061 series aluminium alloy, and hence a very reliable material for use with walking poles. The latest technology Quick-Lock levers are made from duralumin (metal), so much stronger and more reliable than the plastic or nylon levers featured on some walking poles. The knurled tensioning nut is also metal - made from hardened Jappaned steel.
Comfortable, ergonomic cork handles provide good grip and, unlike rubber handles, the cork still provides good grip from sweaty palms on warmer days, as the cork tends to absorb and wick away the moisture.
Option of either our quick-lock Telescopic Walking Poles or 3-Fold Walking Poles.

With reference to our telescopic walking poles, we went with latest technology Quick-Lock levers as opposed to walking poles with a twist-lock action - these Quick-Lock levers are very reliable, and fast and easy to operate. Our telescopic walking poles retract to 65cm and fully extend to 135cm.
When pack size is important or for ease of carrying, our 3-fold, 4 section, aluminium walking poles might just fit the bill. Fully adjustable up to 135cm in length, they will fold down to just 36cm. Our 3-Fold walking poles also feature a Quick-Lock near the handle for fast and easy length adjustment.

About Walking/Trekking Poles
Designed to take the strain off your knees and upper body when hiking or trekking, whilst also making walking safer and easier.
Walking with poles, particularly when carrying a pack or a rucksack, can really make a difference and greatly reduce the potential for aches and pains, and indeed slips and falls. Walking poles are one of those things that you may never consider or appreciate until you've actually used them. They really do help take the strain off knee joints and to some extent hips, particularly on any tricky downhill sections of your walk. From my own experience, once you have tried walking poles, you will never go back to walking or hiking without them.
Note: Our walking poles are also suitable for use with our Skylar and Ultralight PYRAMID Tents.
All of our walking poles come with a full 12 month warranty against faulty materials or workmanship, which we will honour with a full refund on return, or swift replacement should the need arise.
